CVI Connections runs as a Microsoft .NET web services application. In this scenario, the Internet is only used to transfer small amounts of data, allowing the application to run much faster.
Who is responsible for entering data into the system?
As a Third Party Administrator (TPA), you are responsible for entering data about your Licensees, Collection Sites, Schedules, Pricing, Case Managers, other Monitors, etc. using the user friendly data entry screens in the CVI Connections application. The data is stored in a SQL database that resides on an SQL Database Server at Compass Vision, Inc.
How are test results retrieved from the lab and loaded into the system?
Test results are downloaded automatically from the labs to Compass Vision, Inc. through a switched network. The data is stored under your user account which is protected by complete firewall and security services.
What are the backup procedures for electronic medical records?
All electronic medical records are backed up on removable media with offsite storage. Our data storage utilizes a RAID system which increases system uptime and network availability, protects against data loss and increases system performance. Our systems are fault tolerant.
What format are reports in?
Reports are created in standard pdf format. Billing information is exported as a standard, comma delimited text file.
How are reports transmitted to case managers or other monitors?
Reports can be emailed or faxed to case managers and other monitors. The method of reporting is specified by you for each monitor.
